JFC event 'Peace and Political Violence in Colombia' in London 21 November

Justice for Colombia will stage the event 'Peace and Political Violence in Colombia', co-hosted with Alborada, next Tuesday 21 November at Unite the Union in central London.

This special public meeting will examine current developments in Colombia's peace process and what advances and challenges are taking place. It will also focus on the wave of violence that has seen around 130 political activists and 40 demobilised FARC guerrillas or close family members murdered since the peace agreement was signed one year ago.

Speakers include:

Enrique Santiago - Legal Adviser in the Colombian Peace Process and architect of the Peace Agreement’s ground-breaking Transitional Justice Mechanism

Mariela Kohon - Director of Justice for Colombia and International Adviser to the FARC in the peace process

Mark Burton - Human Rights lawyer representing FARC prisoner Simón Trinidad, held in the US since 2004

Admission is free and tickets can be registered online. There will also be tickets available on the door.
