Justice for Colombia deeply laments the passing of Martin McGuinness and expresses it condolences to his family, friends and Sinn Fein colleagues.
In 2014 he travelled to Colombia where together with Justice for Colombia he met with a number of social and political organisations to share his experiences as a Republican leader and as a chief negotiator for Sinn Fein. He also welcomed several Colombian delegations in Belfast, and was always willing to share his invaluable experience and show solidarity with people struggling to achieve peace. The commitment Martin McGuinness has shown to his cause throughout his life and his dedication to building peace and reconciliation have served and will continue to serve as an example to many in Colombia and around the world in their ongoing search for peace and social justice.
“The involvement of Martin McGuinness and many others involved in the Good Friday Agreement has been priceless in offering international support to the Colombian Peace Process. His example of building peace and reconciliation will I am sure continue to inspire. My thoughts are with his family, friends and colleagues at this time.” Mariela Kohon, Director, Justice for Colombia
