Two community activists killed in one day in Antioquia

On Thursday 2nd March in separate incidents Alicia López Guisao and Fabián Rivera were killed.
Alicia was part of the national peasant farmer movement the Agrarian Council which has led protest and strike action across the country over recent years. She was shot dead in the centre of Medellin after armed men got into her taxi.
Fabian Rivera was the President of a local village council in Rosalpi and was shot dead by hitmen as he drove on his motorbike. The local community council coalition released a statement condemning the “sickening attack on a community leader”.
