CPDH Reports Man Breaking into Bogota Offices

The Permanent Committee for Human Rights (CPDH) has reported that on January 26th 2012, a man arrived at their offices in Central Bogota. Initially the man tried to talk his way into the offices, but when this failed he forced his way past administrative staff and entered the meeting room.
According to CPDH, the aim of this aggression was to confirm the presence of a group of victims that were inside leaving testimony of the abuses that they had been subjected to. The victims were former political prisoners who had been reporting threats against their families, followings, illegal searches as well as blackmail. The alleged perpetrators were members of Colombian military intelligence, and the suspicion is that the man that forced his way into the office was also a member of the intelligence services.
CPDH are calling for the latest break in to be investigated. In November false accusations were made against CPDH leaders Diego Martinez and Jairo Ramirez.
