Support for Justice for Colombia
Various organisations (48 at the current time), in both the UK and Republic of Ireland, are affiliated to Justice for Colombia on a national level. These bodies assist us with funding and provide practical and political support for our work. Current affiliates include:
The Trades Union Congress (TUC) represents nearly seven million working people from all walks of life. TUC leader Brendan Barber is the President of Justice for Colombia.
The Irish Congress of Trade Unions (ITUC) represents nearly a million working people and is the largest civil society organisation in the Republic of Ireland.
The National Union of Students (NUS) is a confederation of 600 students' unions in the UK representing the interests of more than seven million students.
Unite is one of the largest trade unions in Europe representing around two million people in numerous different sectors of the economy in both the UK and Ireland.
UNISON represents 1.3 million British workers in the public sector in the UK and Ireland.
The Scottish Trades Union Congress (STUC) represents over 640,000 trade unionists living and working in Scotland.
The GMB is a general union with 600,000 members in the UK and Ireland.
The Union of Shop, Distributive and Allied Workers (USDAW) represent over 387,000 workers, predominantly in the retail sector, in both the UK and Ireland.
The Public and Commercial Services Union (PCS) represent over 300,000 members in the civil service and government agencies in the UK and Ireland.
The National Union of Teachers represents approximately 280,000 British teachers.
